Stay and wait for a proposal, or start making other plans?
So, the back story: a few months ago I thought my boyfriend was going to propose (I was wrong). I was really embarrassed and we talked about it and he explained it wasn't on his radar but he was really sorry I got upset (more at myself than him, of course). Fast forward to about a month ago, he says he's really been thinking about it and I AM the one for him and he does want to marry me. Then he says that he doesn't want to propose for awhile because he wants it to be romantic, special, and something he gets to do, and that it will take time and money. I told him I don't even need a ring, I just want him. The only money issue would be a wedding, and my parents have money put aside for that. The problem is, I'm moving to who-knows-where in a few months (job search may lead me cross country), and I don't want to change the cities I'm looking at for him or move in with him unless we're married. My father also has cancer, and I don't know how long he'll be here, so I'd rather we get engaged and married sooner rather than later if we're both sure now. We've been arguing and getting upset about it; he wants to wait awhile, I feel like I'm on a timetable. What do I do?
