Sooooooo ... I'm sure he lost interest..? :'( ?

I suffered from shyness when I was young and it was very frustrating for me. Now that I'm older I realize that shyness is just you not being sure of yourself. When you see somebody you like, you become shy because you have no idea what to say and you are afraid that you're going to say something stupid or he's not going to like you, etc. All of that can be so overwhelming when you think about it, so it's just easier to shut down and not say anything at all. Some guys would rather pass on shy girls because they don't want to have to work that hard to get to know somebody. If a guy is like that, then he's not worth your time or energy. If a guy really likes you, he will overlook your shyness and talk to you. This guy you are describing may be a nice guy, but maybe he's just moved on or maybe he likes somebody else. If you are sure he's not dating somebody else and want to try to talk to him, just simply find a good time and go up to him and say "hello". If he acts uninterested, then you should probably just move on.
