Can I do marketing work (on a flat rate, 1099 basis) for a FL real estate broker w/out a brokers license?
I have been in discussions with a Florida realtor about doing marketing work for them. I would not be paid a commission or referral fee for homes that are sold as a result of my work; instead, I would simply be paid 2K/month to do marketing / business development, regardless of whether this work resulted in any sales (but the assumption is that it would, of course). I would be paid as an independent contractor on a 1099 basis. Is this an appropriate way to structure this relationship?
